The MBTA unintentionally went cash only Thursday morning
"We thank you for your patience."
If you needed to pay for your MBTA ride Thursday morning, cash was apparently a necessity.
The transit system’s fare vending machines were not accepting credit or debit cards for nearly two hours.
The issue was first reported in a tweet posted by the MBTA at 8:30 a.m. — and later resolved by 10:19 a.m.
“MBTA Fare Vending Machines are now accepting credit and debit card transactions,” the agency wrote in a tweet. “We thank you for your patience.”
#MBTA Fare Vending Machines are currently not accepting credit or debit cards. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to fix this as quickly as possible.
