Here’s Gov. Healey’s response to Taylor Swift’s surprise double album

Like any good Swiftie, the Massachusetts governor is "ready for it."

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey spilled the tea on her Swiftie status in an Instagram post after Taylor Swift’s surprise double album release Friday.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter dropped an extra 15 songs at 2 a.m. Friday, just hours after releasing her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Healey responded to the album with a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post depicting a reenactment of the iconic Boston Tea Party, captioned “Massachusetts Swifties listening to ‘So Long, London’ on the 249th anniversary of the American Revolution.”

The song is the fifth track on Swift’s double album.

In the video, revolutionary actors are seen dumping tea into the water while others cheer them on. Healey wrote, “Ready for it,” and tagged Swift and @taylornation. She also nodded to the album with a hashtag #thetorturedpoetsdepartment and included hashtags for Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, where the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired.

“The governor has entered the fandom,” wrote one Instagram user. Another person commented, “I’m so proud to be from Massachusetts in this moment.”
