JPMorgan Chase will require almost all of its employees to return to the office five days a week, beginning in March, the Boston Business Journal reports

“We are now a few years out of the pandemic and have had the time to evaluate the benefits and challenges of remote and hybrid working,” a memo sent to staff on Friday and shared with the BBJ read. “We feel that now is the right time to solidify our full-time in-office approach. We think it is the best way to run the company.”

According to the BBJ, JPMorgan Chase has roughly 2,200 employees in Massachusetts and 460 across Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The company said in its memo last week that already, more than half of its workforce is in-office five days a week.

JPMorgan Chase has 62 offices in Massachusetts, with its local headquarters on Rowes Wharf in Boston, according to BBJ.

“We know that some of you prefer a hybrid schedule and respectfully understand that not everyone will agree with this decision,” the memo reportedly read.

According to the BBJ, employees will receive 30 days notice of their upcoming workplace assignments as the company evaluates space and plans for sites that have capacity restraints with the return to full-time in-person work.
