The Macy’s at the Kingston Collection mall will close its doors early next year, The Patriot Ledger reports.
The shuttering of the Kingston location comes after the retailer announced earlier this year that it planned to close 150 underperforming stores by the end of 2026.
“As part of our new strategy to return Macy’s, Inc. to profitable growth and enhance the customer experience, Macy’s has sold its Macy’s Kingston Collection store in Kingston, Massachusetts,” a company spokesperson told the Ledger.
The store at the Kingston mall will reportedly operate as normal until its closure in early 2025.
Macy’s has not yet released a list of the stores it is closing nationwide, 50 of which are expected to take place by the end of the year.
According to the Ledger, the retailer has 16 locations in Massachusetts, and its stores in Braintree and Hanover are also slated for closure.
