You can now order an Uber for doughnuts and tapas
Uber launched its food delivery service, UberEATS, in Boston on Thursday.
UberEATS is a standalone app that’s available for free from both the Apple Store and Google Play. The service operates similarly to the ride-sharing app: Users log in using their Uber account information, order from the restaurant of their choice, and pay with their credit card through the app. Users can even watch the animated car move as it delivers food to their location.
As of Thursday, the service is available in Boston, Cambridge, Malden, Everett, Chelsea, and Medford, with plans to eventually expand into Brookline, Belmont, and Arlington. The app is currently available in quite a few other major U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Miami, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
