‘Ned’ Johnson stepping down as Fidelity chairman

Edward C. “Ned” Johnson III next month will step down as chairman of Fidelity Investments, the company said Monday, after 39 years running one of the nation’s largest financial firms.

Johnson, 86, will hand the chairman’s role to his daughter, Abigail P. Johnson, who has been chief executive since 2014.
