First snow, then heat, now rain: Delays on commuter rail Friday morning

Earlier this week, trains on the MBTA’s Worcester-Framingham commuter rail line were delayed due to heat. On Friday, they were delayed due to heavy rain.

Mac Daniel, a spokesman for Keolis, the company that runs the commuter rail, said the line was the most impacted by Friday morning’s rain, because of rainwater buildup in Natick. One morning train was canceled as a result, he said.

Daniel said crews pumped water off the flooded track, and trains were back in service at normal speeds by 10 a.m., though “with residual delays.’’
