Shawmut Construction says its revenues near $1 billion
Boston’s second-biggest construction company said it pulled in $968 million last year.
Shawmut Design and Construction said its 12 percent revenue growth over 2013 would fuel its expansion, starting with the opening of a Miami office early this year. The company has offices in seven other cities, mostly in the Northeast.
The firm’s largest market was Boston, where it did $367 million of its work. New York was close behind, at $300 million. Shawmut, which is owned by its employees, said it already had $879 million worth of work lined up for 2015.
According to the Engineering News-Record, a trade publication, Shawmut is the second-largest construction management company in Boston after Suffolk Construction, which had about double the billings of Shawmut.
