Here’s the Only Traffic Stop that Will Melt Your Heart This Holiday Season
If you’ve stepped outside in the last two days, you’re well aware that holiday cheer in New England is basically being drowned by our weather. But if there are any glimmering sparks of hope left in your heart, prepare to have them fanned into full-on flames.
Police officers in Lowell, Michigan decided that they would do their end-of-year speed trap a little differently this year. They pulled out behind random cars, hit the lights, and, since Lowell is a town of less than 4,000 people, began making small talk with the locals.
As you might expect around this time of year, the conversation turned to holiday shopping. But little did the drivers know, the seemingly natural inquiries about shopping lists were completely planned and allowed a team of little helpers to run around area stores and buy the items the drivers wanted most.
You can watch for yourself, but the result is one guy getting an Xbox One, another guy getting a TV, and a lot of people hugging cops. You might think people would be hesitant to do that after everything that’s happened in the last few months, but apparently “tis the season’’ is a magical cure-all for even the most horrifying of problems. Happy holidays!
