Several Mass. Companies Land on 2014 Inc. 5000 List
A number of Massachusetts companies are listed on the 33rd annual Inc. 5000, Inc. Magazine’s yearly ranking of the fastest-growing companies in the United States.
The list charts the revenue growth of American companies over a three-year period. (Disclosure: I worked for Inc. before joining Boston.com in May.)
Maynard-based Acacia Communications ranked fifth in the country, seeing revenue grow from 2010 to 2013 by more than 20,500 percent to nearly $78 million. It was the top-ranked telecommunications company in the country. BetaBoston’s Kyle Alspach writes:

Fuhu, a California company that develops tech products for children, topped the list for the second straight year, with revenues increasing to just shy of $200 million in 2013, compared to $123,000 in 2010.
In Massachusetts, Waltham-based app developer Affectiva (69), Cambridge digital marketing firm AdHarmonics (70), and two energy-efficiency companies—Hopkinton’s Solect Energy Development (77) and Boston’s Next Step Living (92)—also ranked among the 100 fastest-growing companies in the country. All told, more than 170 companies from the Bay State made their way onto the list, which can be seen in full here, ranging from young tech companies to the burrito chain Boloco.
