Marathon bombing survivor Rebekah Gregory on her memoir: ‘Each chapter was like a form of closure’
Boston Marathon bombing survivor Rebekah Gregory always wanted to write her own book before she as 30—she just never expected to have “so much material to fill the chapters with,” she told People.
Gregory’s memoir, Taking My Life Back, is set to be released on April 4, 2017 – eight days before her 30th birthday.

The book will feature chapters on her physical and emotional recovery after the attack, as well as chapters on her wedding, divorce, remarriage, and premature birth of her second child, People reported.
“Each chapter was like a form of closure to the real-life ones that I had never really healed from, a lot of which are completely unrelated to what happened in Boston and the recovery after,” Gregory told People. “There are parts to my life that even my closest friends don’t know.”
“There’s nothing I wouldn’t give to go back to life before I ever went to the Boston Marathon, but I can’t,” she added. “What I can do is appreciate every new moment I’m given. I’ve been given a huge platform – along with the other survivors – to potentially help other people through what we’ve been through.”
