Berlin Fire Department

After a deer fell through some thin ice in Berlin, New Hampshire, firefighters came to the rescue.

A Facebook post from the department showed the first responders helping the deer out of the Androscoggin River early Wednesday morning and then standing behind a lifeboat as the creature lay in it, recovering.

The deer walked off uninjured after the incident, the post said.
