Baby squirrels found on Conn. train tracks with tails broken, braided together

“We cannot stress this enough: PLEASE LEAVE WILDLIFE ALONE!!!”

Four baby squirrels were found lying on Connecticut train tracks with their tails “tangled, braided, and purposefully tied together,” according to a local animal hospital.

All of the squirrels are alive, according to a Facebook post from the Kensington Bird & Animal Hospital, but their tails are broken and some might have to be amputated.

“We cannot stress this enough: PLEASE LEAVE WILDLIFE ALONE!!!” the post read.

The organization said though tail knotting can happen naturally, these animals’ tails were braided and tied together by a “human made object.”

“Animal abuse is never ok,” the post read. “If you see something please report it!”
