Maine police delivered a rescue puppy to her new owner—after a road trip from Virginia
A Maine resident asked Bangor police if officers could bring her a dog she had adopted from Virginia. They agreed, and Tessa met her new owner on Sunday night.
Bangor police officers Jordan Perry and Daniel Place delivered a 14-week-old rescue puppy to her new owner on Sunday night after a road trip from Virginia.
The officers were headed south last week to participate in the Wreaths Across America project at Arlington National Cemetery, when a fan of the department’s Facebook page from Waldoboro, Maine, asked if they could bring her new puppy back to Maine with them. The dog was her only Christmas present, she said.
The officers picked up Tessa from her foster family in Virginia after laying wreaths at the cemetery on Saturday. Her arrival in Maine was announced by Lieutenant Tim Cotton on Facebook.
“The PPPCPP (Perfect PoPo Christmas Puppy Pass-off) was completed this evening. In a dark parking lot just off Interstate 95,” he wrote.
