A motorcycle police officer in York, Maine, came across quite a sight on a recent night shift: A skunk in need of a little help.

And York Officer David McKinnon sprung into action, freeing the nocturnal animal with its head stuck in a cup. After talking McKinnon into it, the department shared a video of the rescue on its Facebook page.

“There we go, see you’re OK,” McKinnon says after pulling the cup off.

The skunk briefly walks toward the officer before heading into the brush.

“I never thought in a million years … that was a first,” says the apparently unscathed McKinnon.
