Two dogs who were stuck in a pipe were rescued Thursday in Boxford after a five-hour effort.
Around 11 a.m., fire, police, and animal control personnel responded to the area of Spofford Road to help two dogs trapped in an underground drainage pipe, police said in a Facebook post.

The fire department used a sewer camera to get a closer look inside the pipe, and police said the dogs were about 65 feet into the pipe. Around 12:30 p.m., the Boxford and Georgetown departments of public works began digging with bulldozers to reach the two dogs, according to police.
