Cape Cod beach closes after great white spotted 4 feet from shore
Two lifeguards spotted a great white shark Saturday afternoon near the shore at Race Point Beach in Provincetown, the Cape Cod Times reported.Lifeguards Nathan “Duke” Miskiv and Jack Pearson noticed the totally submerged shark approximately 4 feet from shore in roughly 6 feet of water, with no visible fin. It was “as long as a rescue board,” Pearson told the newspaper. “But a lot heftier.”The lifeguards raised the flag and signaled for everyone to get out of the water. Around 30 people were in the water and 250 to 300 were on the shore when Miskiv and Pearson closed the beach to swimming for an hour, according to the Cape Cod Times.Read the full story here.
