Dizzy the monkey is still on the loose inside a Springfield zoo
It looks like Dizzy is still monkeying around in the Zoo in Forest Park.
The 12-pound Guenon monkey escaped from his enclosure at the Springfield zoo Tuesday when he twisted a doorknob to let himself out after an employee who was cleaning the space walked out to help a visitor. The zoo has been closed ever since while employees try to capture the animal.
Dizzy is still inside the zoo, according to an update posted to its Facebook page Wednesday night.

In the post, the zoo said it has brought Dizzy’s mate, Mitzy, out and placed her in their shared enclosure in efforts to entice him back to his home.
The zoo says Dizzy poses no harm to the public, but that it will remain closed for the day Thursday if the monkey doesn’t return to his enclosure.
