Palmer man catches record-breaking lake trout
A Palmer man reeled in a record-breaking lake trout last Wednesday, according to the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife.

William Roy caught the 25 pound, 7 ounce lake trout out of the Quabbin Reservoir. The fish, which measured in at 33 inches long and 26 inches in girth, breaks the previously held state record from 2004 by nearly a pound and a half, the division of fisheries and wildlife said.
Roy, 72, told The Boston Globe that he’s been fishing for over 50 years on the Quabbin and on Lake Ontario. He said it took him about 15 minutes to reel in the fish.
