Allston Christmas now has its own carolers
Allston Christmas just got a little merrier.
A group of carolers took to the streets Monday afternoon to bring yuletide joy to the weary celebrating Boston’s notorious move-out day. Singing “I’m Dreaming of an [Allston] Christmas,’’ a costumed quartet serenaded students and other Bostonians fortunate enough to have a lease ending on August 31 and a new one starting September 1.
Stopping at abandoned couches gracing the sidewalks, the group sang variations on other Christmas favorites, including “Moving Into Allston Wonderland.’’
The carolers were part of a marketing campaign from bfresh, an Allston grocery store owned by supermarket giant Ahold, which operates Stop & Shop.
The carolers will be out again Tuesday morning.
