FAQs

Perhaps you’ve read the news. A new letter will be posted at 9, but in the meantime, here are some FAQs about the book. Q. When will the Love Letters book be out?
A. Maybe Fall 2017. Q. Will this book be all letters?
A. No. There will be some Love Letters content, but much of the book will be new material — some background stuff about the column, some history of advice, some personal narrative, and a look at how this community (all of you brilliant letter writers, commenters, and lurkers) has changed my perception of relationships, romantic and otherwise. Q. How much of the book have you written?
A. Get off my back. Q. Will this book include any of your “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fan fiction about Willow and Angel?
A. Sadly, no. (For the record, that imaginary book is called “Rosenberg’s Turn.”) Q. Meredith, is this your personal book or does it belong to The Boston Globe and Boston.com?
A. I am writing this book with Boston Globe Media. Q. Will it save journalism?
A. I think “Spotlight” did that. Q. Will the Globe throw a big party for readers when the book is released?
A. Of course. Q. Will there be cake pops?
A. Clearly. Q. Meredith, I went out on a date with you once. Will you be writing about that?
A. Probably not, you narcissist. Q. Meredith, I’m that guy who came back to your house that one time and did that weird thing. Are you going to write about that?
A. Probably. Yes. Q. Meredith, I really want you to write about a specific thing in the book. Can I email you about it?
A. Always. [email protected]. Q. Now seems like a pretty good time to send a letter, right?
A. You bet. Get to writing here.
