What’s your love and relationship problem?

Hi Meredith!
My story goes like this: I met an amazing guy a month ago and we had a crazy connection. He made me laugh and told me a few things about himself, all of which I absolutely adored. The thing is, he was on a college basketball trip, so we knew each other for a short period of time – like a week max.
I know I might sound stupid. How can I like someone I barely even know? But it was so rare; no one I have known or dated has ever made me feel this way. I’d been in one long-term relationship prior to this, which lasted about two years, and a couple of short-term relationships. But this guy was so different and I know we both felt this connection – it wasn’t just me. What I really want to know is, is it worth giving it a shot? We both live on other sides of the world (he lives in the US).
He did ask me to add him on social media, but I’m one of those people who just uses their email. We’re in our early twenties. So what do you think? Is it worth it?

“We both live on other sides of the world.”
If that’s the case, you can’t “give this a shot.” You can chat on social media or see if he’s up for an email now and then, but he’ll be your overseas crush, nothing more. There are no shots to give. He’s a daydream, really.
I don’t doubt that you liked each other and had a “crazy connection.” Crazy connections happen, often when people are open to new experiences, put themselves in new places, and walk around feeling good about themselves. I’m not surprised that two young people, one of whom was traveling the world, found a way to get excited about someone they’d never met before.
The lesson here is that the same open-mindedness could lead you to someone who lives closer to home. Maybe a small change of scenery would help you find some new faces. Try to change some variables in your routine and see what other amazingness you can bring into your life.

Readers? Crazy connections?
You know YOU felt a connection, and that he reacted the way you dreamed someone who felt such a connection with you would react. Not the same thing. But hey, throw away all kinds of logical analysis when AMAZING is in the house.
