Wednesday marked the unofficial beginning of beach season in Boston when temperatures climbed over 80 degrees. With 90 degrees a distinct possibility this weekend, you can bet Bostonians will be searching for ways to beat the heat, including seeking out their favorite ice cream shops. But which ones are the most popular?
Thanks to data from check-in app Swarm, we were able to find out which ice cream shops people checked into the most in Boston and Cambridge from Wednesday, May 18 to Tuesday, May 24.
For those unfamiliar, Swarm is an app from Foursquare that lets users check in when they visit locations like restaurants, bars, and parks. The app also makes every day a game with perks like coins and mayorships, and lets users keep track of streaks and places they’ve been with an updated profile tab.
Without further ado, here are the most-visited ice cream shops in Boston and Cambridge.
