WAAF-talk show host Greg Hill is opening a brewery in Maynard this April
A local brewing company will open its new brewery, pub, and outdoor beer garden in Maynard this April, according to the company’s managing partner, radio host Greg Hill.
Battle Road Brewery and Pub will open in Building 5 of Maynard’s historic Clock Tower Mill. The 12,000 square-foot space will be home to a 15 barrel brewery, a pub, and a beer garden overlooking Mill Pond, Hill said.

The Civil War-era mill will be home to the brewery and pub.
Battle Road Brewing Company launched in 2012, with founders Jeremy Cross and Scott Houghton brewing beer locally and on a smaller scale.
“They were kind of your typical struggling brewers with a dream to build a great craft brewery,’’ Hill said. “But when we first got to know them, we were very impressed with their skills as brewers, their knowledge, and their passion.’’
In 2014, the brewers partnered with the Whole House Group, founded by managing partners Hill and Chris Stephans in 2013, to rebrand and relaunch the brewing company on a larger scale to the New England area. The company’s beer will be available this spring, at the brewery and a number of to-be-announced locations.
“I’ve not only being doing radio for 25 years, but I’ve also been going to bars for 25 years,’’ Hill said. “So I have great relationships with many local bars and restaurants. We will work hard to make sure Battle Road gets its proper share of taps and shelf space.’’
The Hill-Man, as he’s referred to by his morning show listeners, owns and operates 29 Sudbury, in Sudbury, and Flank, in Waltham, with the Whole House Group. He also owns several locations of the Howl at the Moon night club, including both the Boston and Patriots Place locations.
