The Boston Globe has unveiled their list of the best new restaurants in the area. The chosen restaurants span across the entire city–just about every neighborhood in Boston is represented, and select restaurants are even located in foodie-rich suburbs like Waltham and Natick.

Dudley Dough, Roxbury
Dudley Dough’s profit-sharing model ensures that all its employees receive a livable wage. And their thin-crust “pizza with a purpose’’ boasts a variety of original topping combinations, including Shrimp & Corn with Puttanesca; Jerk Chicken, Sweet Potato, & Jack Cheese; and Mashed Potato & Meatloaf with Corn, Capers, & Béchamel.

Dumpling Palace, Massachusetts Avenue
When you can’t get seats at the legendary Dumpling Cafe in Chinatown, head over to its sibling restaurant on Massachusetts Avenue. It serves up the same soup dumplings and juicy buns that Peter Wang and Chef Chen–the masterminds behind these two Boston joints–are known for, as well as an array of traditional Chinese fare.

Mi Pueblito, East Boston
The new Orient Heights location of this well-loved restaurant is bringing their menu to another part of Eastie. The original Mi Pueblito on Border Street has been pleasing locals for years with delicious, traditional Mexican, Guatemalan, and Salvadoran dishes like Carne Asada, Pupusas, and Flautas.

River Bar, Assembly Square
River Bar is street food gone brick-and-mortar. Chef Gilmartin, famous for his now-closed Staff Meal food truck, concocts eclectic small-sized dishes like Corned Beef and Cabbage Dumplings, Curried Cauliflower Tacos, and a grass-fed hamburger topped with spicy mayo and bacon spring rolls.

Po-Boys, Newton
It’s tough to find a good po’boy this side of the Mississippi, but this new-ish Newton makes it possible for hungry Boston Yanks. The offerings at Po-Boys are not identical to the traditional dishes of the south, but you can get a taste of the Delta with a fried catfish sandwich.
