A Harpoon alum is launching his own small-batch brewery in Weymouth called Barrel House Z (or BHZ), according to Eater Boston.

Russ Heissner, the first Harpoon brewmaster in 1986, is partnering with Harpoon and Bully Boy Distillers on the project. So far there are three collaboration brews in the mix, aging the ales in Bully Boy barrels of whiskey, rum, and a to-be-named cider, Boston magazine reported.

BHZ has signed a lease for a 16,000-square-foot space in Weymouth, according to Boston, and could open sometime in the middle of 2016.

The brewery will hold a 10-barrel system with the capacity to make 4,000 barrels of beer a year, but Heissner told Boston that he hopes to only do half of that.
