City Landing has views of the Greenway
City Landing is an appropriate name — the new restaurant from chef Bill Brodsky landed him right in the city, by the Greenway and the harbor. It’s a big change for Brodsky, who previously spent 10 years at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich. And it’s a big change for the space, which had a long run as the first branch of Sel de la Terre.
City Landing’s menu showcases ingredients from farmers and other local purveyors. One might find appetizers such as shrimp and grits, tuna tartare with a sticky rice cake and soy-wasabi glaze, and mini lobster rolls. There are soups (onion bisque gratinee), salads (tomato, mozzarella, and tempura asparagus), and pizzas with various toppings. Main courses range from the more elaborate (liver and onions with house-made bacon and porcini-potato pierogi, caramelized scallops with mushroom ravioli and tarragon-cream sauce) to the simpler (fish and chips, a burger). Dessert might be lemon-coconut torte with kaffir lime-mint drizzle or the temptingly named “Big Chocolate Cupcake.’’ City Landing offers gluten-free and vegetarian menus. To drink: cocktails such as the Docksider (corn whiskey, lemon juice, honey syrup, Cherry Heering, and Boston Bittahs) and the Greenway (rum, lime, kiwi puree, and Combier), along with wine and plenty of New England beer.
The restaurant is decked out in green accents, with big windows offering views of the Greenway. Brodsky has new scenery, and city dwellers have a new place to dine. Devra First
