Provincetown chef will appear on ‘Food Network Star: Comeback Kitchen’
The spin-off premiers Sunday night.
A Provincetown chef who was featured as a finalist on Food Network Star will have another shot to join the latest season’s cast — if she can master the dish that sent her home four years ago.
Michele Ragussis, executive chef at The Central House at The Crown, will have the opportunity to redeem her herself on a special edition of the show called Food Network Star: Comeback Kitchen, premiering Sunday night, May 8, at 8 p.m. The three-episode series features seven former finalists competing for the last slot on season 12 of Food Network Star.
Ragussis was the third runner-up when the show aired in 2012, and she also appeared on the network’s shows Chopped and 24 Hour Restaurant Battle. Although she didn’t take home the grand prize, she followed up her stint on the network with executive chef positions at The Pearl on The Harbor in Portland and now at The Central House.
At the end of the three-week run, hosts Valerie Bertinelli and Tyler Florence will select a winner, basing their decision on which contestant creates the best rendition of the dish that sent them home in their respective season. He or she will then become the last to join the cast of Food Network Star, which kicks off May 22.
