Where does one go in Somerville for a meal under $20? Is that an impossible ask these days in Greater Boston?

Food costs are up, so is rent, and the cost of doing practically any business is more expensive. When it comes to dining out in Greater Boston, it’s harder than ever to find a meal that doesn’t break the bank.

But we at Boston.com accept the challenge to locate budget bites. Our new project aims to help readers find high-quality, inexpensive meals in Boston’s suburbs, publishing new guides to one town or city over the course of a year.

To start, we’re heading to food haven Somerville. Its residents for years have enjoyed a growing and impressive restaurant scene that was at one time cheaper than restaurants across the Charles River. But now, in many cases, dining out in this vibrant suburb comes at a higher cost than some eateries in neighboring Boston and Cambridge.

Before we put out our guide, we want to ask our readers for help first.

Can you still get a decent meal for under $20 in Somerville? It should be a meal that one would consider filling, either a single entree, a collection of appetizers or small plates that make a meal, or a combo or meal deal.
