Tell us: Where do you go for the best french fries in Greater Boston?

Boston.com wants to hear from all French fry fans (even the steak fry disciples).

A french fry may be a simple food, fried potatoes often available as a paltry side option to go with your stardom-seeking entree. And yet people have strong opinions about where to go to get the best french fries around Boston.

The days of the fry playing second fiddle are no more. Thanks to TikTok, some people only order fries, or fries with salads or smaller plates. It’s also just more affordable to get fries, still filling enough, but not overwhelming like they would be paired with a burger.

A crispy, golden fry can change a day, be a hangover cure, and serve as a stress treat.

When one study released in 2018 declared french fries a death food, Harvard Medical School faculty member Robert H. Shmerling, MD, heroically wrote a blog post on Harvard Heath Publishing defending the fry.

“The coverage of this new research … made it sound as though having fries with your meal is a death sentence. But let’s not overstate the ‘danger’ of French fries. And let’s also face this irrefutable fact: they’re too good to give up,” Shmerling wrote.

Now that we have Harvard Medical School on our side, Boston.com wants to know where our readers go for their favorite fries.

In the form below, tell us what your favorite fry is (even if it’s the steak fry!). Are you partial to the curly fries at Sloane’s? Or are you a fan of crinkle-cut fries, like the option at Sullivan’s Castle Island? Include the restaurant where you get your favorite fries so that Boston.com can build a french fry guide with your responses. You can also e-mail your response to [email protected].

Sorry. This form is no longer available.
