The new year is already off to a great start when it comes to restaurant openings and fresh updates in Greater Boston’s dining scene. In the months ahead, we have major restaurant openings from Michelin chefs and famous New York restaurateurs, as well as a swell of diverse and delicious smaller restaurants joining our neighborhoods.

Each week, Boston.com will highlight the restaurant openings worth knowing about across the region. Some spots will already be open, while others are set to debut in 2026. At least one featured restaurant will always be a bonus item — either a pop-up, a collaboration, or event at area restaurants.

Cafe Luna

Just a short distance from its two other locations, Cafe Luna and Little Luna, the Kendall Square neighborhood is getting another Cafe Luna, but bigger. The cafe will be able to seat 80 diners inside and 40 outside on their seasonal patio. And while its all-day-breakfast menu of omelets and Belgian waffles will remain, the owners told What Now Boston they will eventually add dinner entrees to the menu.

Boston got another breakfast entry in a town that’s in low supply of places to dine in with eggs and coffee. This national chain brings its second Massachusetts location to Back Bay, with some favorites making the Boylston Street menu like the lemon ricotta pancakes and the Million Dollar bacon.

Joanne Chang’s Flour Bakery empire grows to an 11th location, with one of Boston’s favorite bakeries opening in Brigham Circle. Expect some classic menu items, like Chang’s famous sticky buns, homemade Oreo cookies, the breakfast sandwich, and Rhode Island bakery pizza.

Marzae Wine in Boston Public Market

Massachusetts’ only natural winery is joining the Boston Public Market family as a tasting room, dining experience, and retail space. Marzae will serve its natural wines on draft and offer a refillable growler membership for customers who want to take wine home. Food during the day will be farm-to-table counter-service offerings, but at night Marzae will serve a chef-driven menu by reservation. And lastly, there’s a section of provisions for sale that include New England-made food and lifestyle goodies.

Bonus: Trillium Brewing winter beer garden

One Trillium beer garden may be closing at the Greenway, but another is opening in the dead of winter. How does one comfortably attend a beer garden in these freezing temps? For one, it’s located inside the Winthrop Center downtown, and two, the Trillium team promises a “comfortable 70 degrees” setting for guests to enjoy their beers and canned cocktails.

Event details: Every Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. through March 26
