GreCo moves into the Seaport with an expanded menu, plus Greek wine and beer

The new location is larger — and boozier — than the original.

A taste of Greece has landed in the Seaport.

GreCo, a fast casual Greek spot that has one location on Newbury Street and a downtown location in the works, opened an additional outpost in the Seaport on Tuesday, right next to a Tatte Bakery & Cafe.

The restaurant’s second location is larger than the original, with tall ceilings; a clean, bright color palette; and an expanded menu that includes beer and wine imported from Greece.

Fans of the Newbury branch will still be able to find GreCo favorites in the Seaport, including gyros made with pork, lamb, chicken, or bifteki, plus a new braised mushroom gyro. Build-your-own pitas, plates, and salads highlight a protein, sauce, and side (the GreCo fries are a standout), while seasonal dishes make good use of summer vegetables, like the Greek summer gazpacho with chilled tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and red peppers. And, of course, GreCo’s decadent loukoumas — Greek-style doughnuts — are on the menu, and can be ordered in a number of curated combinations: Yaya’s, featuring hazelnut praline, Oreo cookies, and powdered sugar; Choco Loco, made with white chocolate ganache, a wafer crumble, cocoa powder; and more.

Drink selections include the introduction of GreCo’s “Opa Opa” light lager, a beer made exclusively for the restaurant, as well as red and white wine options from Crete winery Karavitakis. Those needing a caffeine buzz can sip on new coffee options like the freddo espresso and freddo cappuccino, and homemade juices like watermelon with mint.

The 2,800-square-foot space, designed by RCON and Boston Design Lab, boasts blond-wood tables and chairs, cozy nooks, and separate stations for pick-up orders and beverage and dessert orders.

As of July 30, GreCo is open for lunch and dinner.
