This $3,000 burger comes with fries — and an engagement ring
Nothing says love like proposing with beef.
Proposing on Valentine’s Day? Totally expected. Proposing on Valentine’s Day with an engagement ring hidden on top of a pile of onion rings? Now that’s true love.
Pauli’s, a North End sandwich shop, is bringing back its $3,000 Big Boy Burger special for a second year. If the price tag sounds steep, consider this: Along with the burger’s standard toppings of onion rings, American cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce, the hefty meal also will feature a 7/8-carat, princess-cut diamond engagement ring. Oh, and a side of fries.
The juicy offer is available only on Thursday, Feb. 14, though the deal will need to be ordered 48 hours in advance and reserved with a valid credit card. Tax and gratuity are not included in the purchase.
Pauli’s owner Paul Barker told Boston.com that the offer is customizable in terms of whether the buyer wants a different style of ring or even a different burger.
“I think it’s a fun thing to do,” he said. “Also, we wanted to do this for a young couple starting out. I’d do anything in my power to make it special for them and work with them to make it happen.”
