2 new Sweetgreens are opening in Boston this week with a sweet giveaway

The salad chain is offering its first customers free mini sticky buns from Flour Bakery.

It may seem counterproductive to pair your lunch salad with an indulgent pastry. Or perhaps it’s the best of both worlds.

Either way, the first customers at Sweetgreen’s two new locations in Boston will have that option.

The salad chain is upping its presence in Massachusetts to 12, with openings this week at 47 Northern Ave. in the Seaport and downtown at 60 State St. The first 200 customers at each location will get complimentary miniature versions of Flour Bakery’s acclaimed sticky buns with any purchase.

“We’re excited to partner with a renowned chef like Joanne Chang to provide our guests with a sweet touch on our opening days,” Sweetgreen co-founder Nicolas Jammet said in a press release.

The Seaport location opens Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and features an open kitchen, communal bleacher seating, and a series of silkscreen art from Jenny McGee Dougherty.

The State Street location opens Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and was designed to be optimized for online and mobile ordering.

The sticky bun giveaways at both respective openings also begin at 10:30 a.m., which seems like an optimal time for a pre-lunch snack.

If you need another incentive to go, Sweetgreen says that 100 percent of opening day sales at both locations will be donated to Fresh Truck, a Boston-based mobile farmers market that aims to improve access to healthy and affordable food for people in underserved communities.
