You can take a Thanksgiving cooking class with an award-winning local chef
Chef Tony Maws will help you cook your best bird.
It’s not every year that a James Beard Award-winning chef will teach you how to cook Thanksgiving dinner, but this could be that year.
Chef Tony Maws of Craigie on Main in Cambridge and The Kirkland Tap and Trotter in Somerville wants to turn you into a holiday hero. On Saturday, Nov. 11, you can attend a 90-minute Thanksgiving cooking class led by Maws at Craigie On Main.
Maws will walk participants through three different turkey cooking techniques — spatchcocking, the two-cook method, and old-school roasting — plus what many agree is Turkey Day’s most daunting task: carving the bird.
Toss in some clever leftover recipes and cocktail tips, and you’ll be well prepared to handle Thanksgiving this year, whether you’re hosting a small group of friends, your entire extended family, or somewhere in between. Besides, how cool would it be to say, “The turkey? Oh, I just spatchcocked it, no big deal.”
Earlier this week, RadioBDC‘s Julie Kramer and Maws talked turkey, Craigie on Main’s weekly Chef’s Whim offering, and more:
