Find Pats season opener parties and Brady- and Gronk-themed specials at these restaurants
New England Patriots fans can nibble on free appetizers, feast on “The Brady,” and sip on a “Gronkarita” Thursday in honor of the Super Bowl champs’ season opener. Ahead, find out about area kickoff parties and see what restaurants have cooked up in the way of Patriots-inspired dishes as the team gets ready to battle the Kansas City Chiefs at 8:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.
Coppersmith
During every Patriots game this season, food trucks will “duel” at this South Boston hotspot, with local grub battling it out against favorites from the opposing team’s region. Thursday night, those with Pats pride can eat New England clam chowder, while those who want to take down the competition can opt for Kansas City-style barbecue with Coppersmith’s very own secret sauce. (40 W. 3rd St., Boston)
The Harp
This Thursday night only, the bar will offer a special Pats kickoff party menu. Bite into a “Pats Burger” with caramelized onions, bacon, cheddar, and horseradish mayo on a roll, with or without a fried egg. Or order loaded, spicy, or plain tater tots, buffalo chicken wings, and either a fried egg, buffalo chicken wrap, or sausage, peppers, and onion sandwich. (85 Causeway St., Boston)
The Scorpion Bar Mexican Cantina Patriots Place

Fans without tickets to the game can still feel close to the action by heading to this Patriots Place spot and ordering a “Gronkarita” ($44). It serves four to six people, is available throughout the year, and is named after Pats tight end Rob Gronkowski, of course.
“It’s fun. It’s oversized,” said beverage director Joe O’Connor in an email about the Gronk-inspired margarita. “It’s celebratory – Just like Gronk when he scores a touchdown and does his famous ‘Gronk spike.'” (253 Patriot Place, Foxborough)
Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar
You can feed football (and taco) lovers with new Patriots-inspired take-home boxes from this South Boston restaurant.
“The Brady” ($150) serves five people and includes guacamole with chips, loaded wings, grilled street corn, nachos, and tacos. “The Belichick” includes the same items, but serves 10 people and costs $295. Both boxes will be available throughout the football season.
“The Brady and The Belichick Taco [Boxes are] our way of paying homage to two of the greatest figures in NFL history,” said Executive Chef Matt Drummond in an email. (412 W. Broadway, Boston)
Cask ‘n Flagon

Meanwhile, guests can nosh on the always-available tailgate platter with their choice of slow-cooked Texas-style beef, chicken, pork, or St. Louis-style ribs ($19.99 for two types of meat, $25.99 for three), and sip on blueberry sangria ($9.25) in the Patriots colors of red and blue — made of Cold River Blueberry Vodka, Crème de Mure, prosecco, and cranberry juice. In honor of the season opener, you can buy a half-dozen box of “Brady Bunch” doughnuts at this shop that has locations in Boston and Saugus. The doughnuts have red, white, and blue sprinkles, plus the years of each Pats Super Bowl win written on them in blue frosting. The sixth doughnut says, “Go Pats.”
“They just flew off the shelves today,” said co-owner Maria Delios. “We’ll be making them every game day in both of our locations.” (90 Oliver St., Boston; 120 Lincoln Ave., Saugus)
Kings
This restaurant and bowling alley will host an NFL kickoff party beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday at its locations in Back Bay, Burlington, Dedham, and Lynnfield. There will be free pizza samples and appetizers and, between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., contests and giveaways. After that, fans can watch the game on several large HDTVs.
