Hi B3ar, which is Boston’s first rolled ice cream shop, opened last weekend in Allston. (A kiosk called Frollz opened at the Square One Mall in Saugus in January.)
The shop, located at 147 Brighton Ave., is rolling out 10 flavors, with unlimited toppings, including Cookie Monster (made with Oreos), Matcha Lady (matcha and red beans), Pina Colada (coconut and pineapple), and Morning Call (coffee with chocolate chips). All flavors are the same price, $6.95 plus tax.
This sweet trend has been spreading across ice cream shops all over the world—and taking over Instagram—because of the unique way the ice cream is made. The mix is poured on a cold plate and spread thin, before it is scraped to form the ice cream cylinders.
