Dunkin’ Donuts plans to open a new location on Newbury Street

If the City of Boston approves the company's license, you'll once again be able to sip while you shop.

Newbury Street shoppers in need of a caffeine boost have plenty of options, with at least 10 spots — including Pavement, Wired Puppy, and Starbucks — brewing java on Boston’s answer to Fifth Avenue. But if Dunkin’ Donuts is the only coffee you crave, and the Boylston Street and Prudential Center locations are just too far away, you’re in luck.

The Licensing Board for the City of Boston will hold a hearing on Wednesday to consider an application from the company to open a location at 270 Newbury St. — in between Gloucester and Fairfield Street. If approved, the store will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will feature a 16-seat patio.

So for those of you who have felt lost since the Dunkin’ at 333 Newbury St. closed a couple of years ago, the nightmare may soon be over.
