It’s a good time to be a Greater Boston diner in 2025, with exciting and diverse restaurant openings occurring all over the metro area.

Each week, Boston.com will highlight the restaurant openings worth knowing about across the Greater Boston region. Louis Corner

The MAZI Food Group is once again busy with an opening, and this time it’s transforming Barbara Lynch’s former Butcher Shop into a gastropub. Behind the menu is the restaurant group’s executive chef Jesus Preciado, who has produced a shareable food program of American quintessentials with some Irish influence, like deviled eggs, oysters Rockefeller, fish and chips, and classic American cocktails.

Row 34

It’s a sort-of homecoming story for owners Shore Gregory and Chef Jeremy Sewall, who used to run the Island Creek Oyster Bar in the space of Kenmore Square that now houses their fifth Row 34. Their menu boasts Row 34 classics like their warm buttered lobster roll, tuna crudo, and a bowl of New England clam chowder with bacon.
