Whichever way you slice it, the mathematically minded view that as Pi Day. But math geeks aren’t the only ones marking the quirky holiday on their calendars. Pi Day has become popular with schools and communities for learning-based fun, and maybe a pastry or two. If you’re passionate about mathematical constants or filled baked goods (or both), there’s a Pi Day event for you.
Pi Day Events
Pi Day came early this year for the Museum of Science. This past Saturday, it attempted to break the world record for most shaving cream pies thrown at one time. The festivities will continue on Wednesday with sunrise yoga, a live animal presentation, and more.

Spirographs at Fab@CIC
Fab@CIC is putting the “pi” in “spirograph.” The creative space, which offers downtown Boston the chance to connect, sip coffee, and use digital fabrication equipment, will teach attendees how to create their own spirograph and, consequently, the circular artwork of their elementary school dreams. Plus, they promise pie.

Chef Joanne Chang announced that Flour will sell pie slices for $3.14.

Jennifer Lee’s Bakery
The allergen-free sweet stop at the Boston Public Market will sell mini blueberry, pumpkin, apple crumble, peach, and strawberry pies for $5.
KO Pies
Though it’s keeping the exact deals a mystery, this meat pie maker tweeted a video on Thursday with an announcement that it will offer specials and limited edition pies for the holiday.

Public Library of Brookline
The public library is even getting in on the action, hosting events at two of its branches. Learn about the history of the Boston cream pie and taste local samples in Coolidge Corner, or take part in a Pi Day Taste Test at the Brookline Village branch.
