With temperatures already climbing above 80 in Boston, it’s a great day for some ice cream. Luckily for Bostonians, two companies with local ties are giving out sweet goodness around the city.

First, Hood is celebrating National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (which is apparently a thing) by doling out free ice cream sandwiches at City Hall Plaza from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Ben & Jerry’s is kicking off its nationwide Pint Slice Tour by driving its truck to several different high-traffic locations in Boston over the next five days. The company is keeping some of its schedule a surprise, but if you follow Ben & Jerry’s Tour on Twitter, you can track down the Vermont company’s newest dessert creation.
