A yet-to-open Back Bay restaurant is already drawing global attention.

The Hollywood Reporter recently spotlighted Rosa y Marigold in its 2026 Travel Issue, naming it among the hotels, resorts, and restaurant openings around the world that “everyone will be talking about.” The Boston spot was the only New England destination on the list, and was included alongside openings in cities like Kyoto, Singapore, New York, and Miami.

Here’s how The Hollywood Reporter described Rosa y Marigold:

“Rosa y Marigold is the latest from chef JuanMa Calderón and restaurateur Maria Rondeau, the husband-and-wife team behind acclaimed Cambridge eateries Celeste and La Royal, as well as Esmeralda in Vermont. The design-forward, 100-seat Back Bay restaurant will serve tiraditos, chifa-inspired dishes, anticuchos and more in artful surroundings.”

The team, known for acclaimed restaurants Celeste in Somerville and La Royal in Cambridge, plans to open Rosa y Marigold this spring at 400 Newbury St. at Lyrik Back Bay. According to Boston magazine, the restaurant will serve Peruvian classics like ceviche and lomo saltado alongside Peruvian-Chinese dishes, plus lunch service with sánguches, cocktails, and live music.
