Nothing says spring in Boston like hot dogs, raspberry lime Rickey, and fighting off Southie seagulls at Sullivan’s Castle Island, which reopens for its 75th season this Saturday.

The seasonal South Boston concession stand announced its plans to reopen, as it does every year before the official start of spring, on Feb. 28. They teased their reopening for weeks on social media, with one recent post showing dozens of boxes containing Kayem hot dogs unloaded from a truck Thursday.

“The hot dogs made it,” the post read. “Thanks to our friends at [Kayem] for getting them to South Boston, even with the Blizzard of ’26.”

The opening comes just days after a massive Nor’easter dumped feet of snow onto New England and Greater Boston, making travel difficult and even impossible on Monday and Tuesday.

It appears the food that Sully’s is known for — lobster rolls, ice cream, and fries that even a seagull can’t seem to turn down — made its way to the Southie landmark.

The Bostonians that go on their pilgrimage to Sully’s opening weekend may not be convinced by this signal of springtime, given the giant piles of snow and frigid temps expected this weekend. But that doesn’t stop lines from forming outside this decades-old institution, which also won a James Beard America’s Classics Award for the Northeast region last year.

Every year Sullivan’s reopens usually at the end of February or start of March and closes for the winter season in November. On Saturday, doors open at 10 a.m., and the Castle Island location is open daily.
