Market Basket customers in North Andover can get more for their dollar once again, now that the town’s newly remodeled location is open.
The supermarket chain announced Friday that the store, located at 350 Winthrop Ave., had officially celebrated its grand reopening. The week before, Market Basket shared in a Facebook post that the remodel had been completed.
The remodeled store opened right next door to its original location at the North Andover Mall. The original store closed Thursday evening after 44 years of business, MassLive reported.
The new location is 92,000 square feet, which is nearly 40% bigger than the original store, according to The Eagle-Tribune.
To make full use of the extra space, the new store will include a specialty butcher shop, more prepared foods, and a coffee and ice cream bar with indoor seating.
To mark the occasion, Market Basket will have special deals at all locations through Aug. 30, according to Friday’s post. Customers can view the full range of deals through the chain’s weekly flyer.
