It seems controversial Barstool owner and founder Dave Portnoy is on a bit of Massachusetts pizza tour. Last week, Portnoy rated Laced Pizza & Pub in Foxborough and Eagle Brook Saloon in Norfolk. His latest stop is Mike & Lenny’s Bar Pizza in Walpole.

Mike & Lenny’s has two locations, their ghost kitchen in Walpole and their new brick-and-mortar at Widowmaker Brewery in Braintree. They also have a food truck that can be booked for events and catering.

In the video, after a bit of confusion regarding the definition of brick and mortar with one of the partners (scrambled by Portnoy’s arrival), Portnoy tried more than just one bite of restaurant’s cheese pie. The founder told Portnoy via speaker phone that he’s been sending him DMs him since 2019 trying to get hm to review their pie.

“Mike & Lenny’s Bar Pie: Good guys, support ’em, bring the dog, good bar pie,” said Portnoy.

Portnoy rated the pie a 7.7 out of 10 on his One Bite scale. Portnoy typically identifies new places to review through recommendations, social media, and highly reviewed businesses on his One Bite app. It’s uncertain exactly how Portnoy determines the pie ratings.

Mike & Lenny’s falls short of Eagle Rock Saloon, which scored a 7.9 out of 10, but surpasses Laced, which earned a 7.5 out of 10. All of these are relatively high on the list of One Bite Pizza Reviews, where Portnoy has rated over a 1,000 pizzas across the country.
