Dave Portnoy is back in his home state to rate another local pizza shop.

The controversial founder and owner of Barstool Sports shared a review of Laced Pizza & Pub in Foxborough on Thursday.

In the video, Portnoy learns that Laced gets its name from the charred edges around the pie. He noted that the restaurant, which opened last year, received good reviews in a South Shore bar pie Facebook group.

“I think this is very good,” said Portnoy in the video. “This has, unlike the last place we did that was more fluffy, this is more the bar pie typical, a little more on the greasy side.”

Portnoy rated Laced a 7.5 out of 10 after trying a slice. It’s not exactly clear how Portnoy determines his ratings, but he noted that he likes his pies more crispy. Laced’s owner Chat McGrath spoke with Portnoy in the video, and agreed that he always wants his pizza laced and crispy. Portnoy has no problem bluntly disagreeing.

“This is not crispy,” Portnoy said. “I’m surprised you said you order it laced and crispy — to me, this is not a crispy bar pie.”

Raised in Swampscott, Portnoy started reviewing pizzas for his One Bite review series back in 2013, and has featured many Massachusetts establishments. He recently stopped by Eagle Brook Saloon in Norfolk, which received a 7.9 out of 10. Only one shop, Monte’s Restaurant in Lynn, has a 10 out of 10 rating.
