This Somerville cafe has the best brunch in Mass., according to Yelp Elites

A hidden cafe with delicious pastries is the best brunch spot in the Bay State, according to Yelp.
3 Little Figs in Somerville made the review platform’s list of best brunch spots in each state in a ranking put together by the company’s top community contributors known as the Elite Squad.
While the list covers everything from elaborate meals to quick bites, 3 Little Figs stands out as a community-centric, family-owned business.
Owner Katie Rooney opened the cozy nook in 2011 known for breakfast and lunch after being laid off from her job in broadcast production, according to their website. Alongside her are Rooney’s mother, sister, and husband Andy.

The brunch spot has a plethora of options including scratch-made baked goods and Greek-inspired fare like spinach pie, Greek yogurt with honey, and the Market sandwich served with prosciutto, goat cheese, fig jam, arugula, and tomato on housemade focaccia. They also offer a range of specialty coffee and smoothies.
Planning to stay awhile? The cafe notes on its website that it doesn’t offer Wi-Fi and asks guests to “refrain from using laptops.”
To compile the list of best brunch spots, Yelp filtered businesses in the breakfast and brunch categories, then identified the businesses using Elite Squad member reviews and rankings for each. According to Yelp, all businesses were marked open on Yelp as of March 4, 2025 and when available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of March 4, 2025.

Other New England spots that made the Yelp Elite list include The Corner in Milford, Connecticut; Congdon’s Doughnuts Family Restaurant & Bakery in Wells, Maine; Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire; Ellie’s in Providence, Rhode Island; and Maple Sugar & Vermont Spice in Mendon, Vermont.
