Kaia, one of the most exciting restaurant openings in Greater Boston in the last year, is considered one of the greatest restaurants in the world, according to Conde Nast Traveler.

The lifestyle and travel publication shared its list 2025 Hot List of the best new restaurants in the world on Wednesday, and includes restaurants from all over the globe picked by their editors.

The newest concept from Xenia Greek Hospitality — the restaurant group behind the hard-to-reserve Krasi and the growing fast-casual, local chain Greco — opened in November 2024 with a menu focused on Greek’s Aegean coastal cuisine and all Greek wine.

“The most inexplicable magic of Kaia, Boston’s newest coastal Greek hot spot, is that stepping inside invokes a kind of time travel. Its interiors—pale pinks balanced by stone and brick—instantly transport diners to a beach cove on the Aegean in summer,” wrote Boston-based writer Nathan Tavares in Conde Nast Traveler

The South End restaurant was the only New England eatery to make Conde Nast Traveler’s global hot list.

Other cities in the U.S. that made the cut included typical foodie locales, like New Orleans, New York, and Chicago, and globally countries like Japan, Mexico, and France were represented.
