Boston Underground Film Festival

The Brattle Theatre’s annual film festival—which has the tagline, “keeping Boston weird since 1999″–is back to celebrate the “bizarre” and “uncompromising” films of the year. The festival promises five days of screenings of films you wouldn’t typically see in a Boston theater. There’s even an award for the “Most Effectively Offensive” film. (Wednesday, March 22 through Sunday, March 26 with various screening times, Brattle Theatre, Cambridge; individual film tickets are $12, entire festival pass is $155; all ages but discretion for children advised)

ICA After Five: Rosé + Roses

In celebration of the season of pink wines and fresh blooms, the Institute of Contemporary Art is hosting a rosé-filled paper flower-making class. It’s part of the museum’s Friday night series, ICA After Five, and the paper florals and tastings are both included with museum admission on a first-come, first-served basis. (Friday, March 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.; Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston; general admission is $15, $10 for students; 21+)

“Tear Down the Wall” Yoga Class

Described as “part yoga class, part rock show, part emotional catharsis,” this fitness class is set to Pink Floyd’s album The Wall and promises to help you tear down your own wall, whether it’s a physical or emotional one. The class takes place at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, and doors open at 1:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available, and yogis should get there on time because late arrivals will not be admitted. (Saturday, March 25 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; OBERON stage, American Repertory Theater, Cambridge; $50; all ages)

Boston Tattoo Convention

Tattoo lovers will find their paradise at the 16th annual Boston Tattoo Convention held at Hynes Convention Center. Local and international tattoo artists will gather at this weekend-long event to admire others’ work and both give and receive new ink. There will also be burlesque entertainers, tattoo of the day awards, and even a Miss Boston Ink pageant. Both single-day and weekend passes are available to purchase in advance, as well as at the door. (Friday, March 24 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, March 26 at 7 p.m.; Hynes Convention Center, Boston; tickets from $25; all ages)

‘Saturday Morning’ Ale Release Party

Take yourself back to Saturday morning cartoons and cereal with the release of the Somerville Brewing Company’s new Belgian ale, brewed with Cap’n Crunch Berries cereal. The beer, aptly named “Saturday Morning,” will be released this Friday night at the Slumbrew microbrewery and taproom in Somerville. Enjoy it while snacking on Cap’n Crunch Berries cereal. The beer will also be available for purchase in cans. (Friday, March 24 from 6 to 9 p.m.; Somerville Brewing, Somerville; free entry; 21+)

Bonetown Burgers Meets Hot Sauce Nation

If you’re not yet a member of Bone Up Brewing Co.’s Hot Sauce Nation, this Saturday is your chance to join the brewery’s hot sauce bottle share club. The idea is simple: Bring a bottle of hot sauce to add to Bone Up’s growing collection, and gain access to their stash every time you visit. Plus, this Saturday, Bone Up is upping the ante by inviting Daddy’s Bonetown Burgers to serve burgers, fries, and tots as vessels so guests can try all the fiery hot sauce they can manage. (Friday, March 24 from 5 to 10 p.m.; Bone Up Brewing Co., Everett; prices vary; 21+)

Classical Cartoon Festival

The 18th annual Classical Cartoon Festival, presented by 99.5 WCRB, is back to delight children of all ages by screening favorite cartoons set to classical music. This event is held at Symphony Hall and will also feature live music from youth groups like the Boston Children’s Chorus and visits from favorite PBS characters including Clifford and Curious George. The all-day-Saturday event has a packed performance schedule, and discounted tickets are available if purchased in advance. (Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Symphony Hall, Boston; tickets from $12; all ages)

Lightsaber Combat Training

For anyone who’s ever wanted to be a Jedi, now’s your chance to get the proper training. The Boston Center for Adult Education is joining forces with Boston Jedi, a stage-combat club that puts on Star Wars-themed performances, to offer a Lightsaber Combat class. Demonstrators will teach die-hard Star Wars fans all the proper form and footwork necessary to become a lightsaber master, no experience or equipment required. The event is free, but advanced registration is required. (Saturday, March 25 from 1 to 3 p.m.; Boston Center for Adult Education, Boston; 18+) 

Roaring Nights: Fun in the Tropics at Franklin Park Zoo

The Franklin Park Zoo will open its doors this Saturday night for an after-hours event featuring music, drinks, games, and animals. A $40 ticket includes entry to the event, appetizers, and a glass of Kingdom Wine Company wine, with proceeds supporting the zoo’s educational programs and conservation initiatives. In addition to scheduled animal encounters, guests will be invited to observe ring-tail lemurs in their specially decorated habitat for the event and join zoo staff on guided tours through the free-flight bird exhibit. (Saturday, March 25 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.; Franklin Park Zoo, Boston; $40 per ticket, available for advanced purchase; 21+)

Bendy Brunch with CorePower Yoga & Bar Mezzana

Food blog Must Eat Boston is teaming up with CorePower Yoga and Bar Mezzana to bring together your Sunday morning exercise and brunch. The day will start at CorePower Yoga, where you’ll take one of the studio’s signature classes to detoxify your mind and body before you fill up the latter at Bar Mezzana next door. A ticket, available for advanced purchase, gets you the yoga class, a two-course brunch, and one of Bar Mezzana’s signature cocktails. (Sunday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; CorePower Yoga & Bar Mezzana, Boston; $45; all ages)
