Roxy’s Central / Area Four A4cade Opening Day

Playing video games by yourself can be pretty fun, but it’s always better when you can grab a friend for some two-player action. That’s the spirit behind Roxy’s Central and A4cade by Area Four, a joint effort from Roxy’s Grilled Cheese founder James DiSabatino and Area Four head honcho Michael Krupp that opens in Central Square this weekend. You can get your game on with 20 classic arcade consoles, an 18-foot shuffleboard court, Skee-Ball, and Pop-A-Shot, all while enjoying geek-themed cocktails from Area Four and food from Roxy’s. (Saturday, January 28 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Roxy’s Central / Area Four A4cade, Cambridge; free; restaurant, all ages / arcade, 21+)Update 1/27/17 10:17 a.m.: A spokeswoman told Boston.com that due to minor delays, Roxy’s/A4 is now scheduled to open on Saturday at 5 p.m. rather than on Friday at 11 a.m., as previously reported.

Slap Shot at Coolidge Corner Theatre

Watching the Bruins is a little bit difficult these days. If you’d rather watch a hockey team that definitely won’t disappoint you, the Coolidge Corner Theatre is screening a 35 mm print of the Paul Newman classic Slap Shot at midnight on Friday and Saturday. The Charlestown Chiefs may not be the most talented bunch, but those guys sure know how to fight. (Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28 from 11:59 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Coolidge Corner Theatre, Brookline; $12.25; rated R)

Woman Power Yoga

According to Yoga Hub Boston founder Ali Singer, everyone has both masculine and feminine energy within us and surrounding us. While the masculine energy is assertive, linear, and analytical, the feminine is receptive, creative, and intuitive. If it feels like there’s been a bit too much masculine energy in your life, you’re invited to join Singer for a 60-minute, chill flow at the Paradise on Saturday that will be accompanied by songs by strong women from the last five decades. A portion of the $23 cost will be donated to a charity selected from participant suggestions, so bring an idea for a worthy nonprofit along with your positive energy and yoga mat. (Saturday, January 28 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Paradise Rock Club, Boston; $23; all ages)
